Settings and system integration

Open Settings from the tray menu. Settings are split into three pages and take effect immediately. They are stored in Documents/FNSoftware/SigXor/settings.json.

General#

• Start with Windows: launch SigXor after sign-in.
• Silent start: start without showing any window, equivalent to SigXor.exe --silent.
• Close to tray: keep the tray process running when a window is closed.
• Notifications: control update and model-download notifications.
• Restore defaults: reset the current page to defaults.
• Text font and size: customize preview and editor rendering.

Voice & screenshot#

• Start voice service: enable speech recognition and global hotkey listening.
• Voice hotkey: Right Alt (default), Left Alt, Right Ctrl, Left Ctrl or Caps Lock.
• Language: Chinese / English / Cantonese / Japanese / Korean / auto.
• Input method: clipboard paste (default, with clipboard restore) or keyboard simulation with a configurable delay.
• Enable region screenshot: turn on the screenshot hotkey.
• Screenshot modifier: Alt (default), Ctrl, Ctrl + Shift, Win, or no modifier.
• Start with Windows and notifications: shared with the General page.

Services & models#

• Speech model: view SenseVoice status and size, download, delete or open the model folder.
• OCR model: view PP-OCRv6 / v5 status and size.
• Reuse old models: point to a previous SigXor model folder read-only, or move models manually.
• Start / stop voice service: toggle the speech service without restarting the app.

Tray menu#

Left-click the tray icon to open the global launcher. The right-click menu contains:

• Quit

Single instance and command line#

SigXor runs as a single instance. A second launch activates the existing instance; if the command line includes a file, the preview opens in that instance.

Automatic updates#

• Updates can be checked silently at startup or manually from the tray menu.
• The update window shows release notes and download progress, then prompts for a restart.
• The updater reads latest.json, downloads the full ZIP, verifies SHA256 and replaces the app after exit.
• If the new version is not ready within 30 seconds it rolls back automatically; see updater.log in the app folder.
• Automatic updates are disabled when the app folder is not writable; download a new ZIP from Releases instead.

Data migration#

• Older data folders are migrated automatically to Documents/FNSoftware/SigXor.
• Old settings are mapped on first merge; models can be reused read-only or copied manually.
• Upgrading from the Velopack installer requires uninstalling the old version and unzipping the portable ZIP into a fresh writable folder.
